Dip HE Nursing Studies and Health
University of Wales Trinity Saint David Nursing, 93% of UWTSD’s Nursing students agreed that their course has provided them with opportunities to apply what they have learnt – NSS 2017.
The NHS is changing in Wales. It has never been so difficult to gain a place in Nursing and similar professional roles including midwifery, paramedic science, radiography and occupational therapy. If you are one of the 52% of applicants who have not received a place in your first choice health professional degree, then this is the course for you.
This unique programme is designed to increase your chances of gaining entry into your first choice degree. We will develop your knowledge and ability in the core concepts, theories and underpinning knowledge of nursing and related subjects while training you in the skills needed to succeed in higher education.
The Dip HE Nursing Studies and Health Programme is offered as flexible route qualification. This means you are able to keep applying to your first choice degree while you study with us and leave the course at the end of year one or two depending on when you gain your place.
We know that you do not want to give up on your goals – and we are here to work with you to reach them, no matter what barriers you may have had in your way.
We offer flexible programmes which work around you and your life as much as possible. All our courses are offered as FULL or PART time programmes. We offer flexibility within all our part-time routes across all our programmes within the Health Portfolio.
The Dip HE Nursing Studies and Health works with you to improve your chances of gaining entry on your first choice degree. We will train you in the underlying concepts of nursing and related professional roles. We also help you with interview skills, healthcare work experience, educational grades and attainment, and UCAS applications.
If you are not successful in gaining a place on your first choice degree we provide the opportunity for you to gain a BSc with one extra year of study. This could be a BSc Health and Social Care or BSc Health Management (Swansea campus), or BSc Public Health (Carmarthen campus). We also work closely with other schools and faculties in UWTSD to provide other direct and fast track routes to a degree, for example the BA Counselling Studies.
We can offer you the opportunity to visit the campus and meet the teaching team. We will answer any questions and if required a one to one informal chat can be arranged. Please email the named contact at the top of the screen if you would like to know more.
