What Grade Point Average (GPA) will I need to achieve to be eligible for admission for the graduate course I want to apply for?

We recommend you check the relevant course pages on the Graduate Admissions website to see the selection criteria (entry requirements) for your chosen course. These will cover the qualification(s) required to make a competitive application.
In general, where the minimum entry requirement for your chosen course is a UK first-class undergraduate degree, this equates to a US GPA of at least 3.7 based on the 4.0 system. For those courses which require a UK high second-class degree (first division), this is broadly equivalent to a US GPA of at least 3.5.
If you do not meet the basic minimum entry requirement or are unsure of the standard of your qualification(s), please contact the department directly to check whether you are in a position to submit a competitive application. You will find the contact details for each department on the course pages. However, please be aware that entry to Oxford is extremely competitive and if you do not hold a qualification at the specified level as a minimum, your application is unlikely to succeed.
In addition, you may also contact the UK’s National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) +44 (0)870 9904088. They provide a service for individuals seeking information on comparability between international and UK academic qualifications. Please note, however, this may incur a cost to you and we strongly recommend that you contact the relevant department in the first instance.
