University of chester basketball

The University of Chester Basketball Club is an up and coming UK university basketball programme, driven to enhance the student experience by increasing participation and enhancing performance. In recent years our club has grown massively with both our men’s and women’s programmes providing opportunities for University of Chester students of all experience levels to play basketball regularly. We have two men’s teams and one women’s team who compete in BUCS. After prolonged success in the upper tiers of men’s BUCS competitions, we have entered a men’s team into the Basketball England National Basketball League.

The Men’s Basketball Club offers basketball for everyone, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned performer. We run weekly recreational sessions, as well as having two teams competing regularly in BUCS fixtures on Wednesdays and a team that plays on the weekend in the Basketball England National League.

We are passionate about our sport and if you are interested in learning to play basketball and want to join one of the UK’s fastest sports then look no further, join men’s basketball!

2015/16 was a really successful year for the club really emerging on the national scene. The men’s National League side won the Division 4 North West Region and were runners up in the National Playoff Final. After gaining promotion to BUCS Division 1 the first team competed valiantly pushing a lot of well established teams to the wire. The BUCS 2nd team continued to improve recording their highest league position since entering BUCS in 2014.
