The library provides access to and support for millions of research and learning resources in print and online. We are committed to providing high-quality facilities and services to enrich scholarship at the University.

The University Library is made up of nine libraries located in or near the relevant faculty or school, and employs just over 150 staff.

Before your visit we advise you check the opening hours. Details of these, and a wealth of other information about what we offer University members and visitors, is available on these webpages.

Library strategy

The Library Strategy Group is the senior advisory body for the library to ensure the service aligns with the University mission.  The Group provides a report on committee business to the University Planning and Resources Committee (UPARC) on an annual basis. The Group also reports to the Education Committee on matters concerning students, and the Research Committee on key issues, eg Open Access. The Group meets three times a year and is chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Guy Orpen.
