University of Birmingham Library Cafe

The Library Café on the ground floor serves a range of quality eat-in and takeaway food made from British ingredients, simply prepared and changing seasonally. Extra seating is available on the mezzanine level, overlooking Centenary Square.

The café sells a range of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks, and cakes.

You may bring your own food to eat in the café and the Library Lounge – you must not take any food or drink, except water, into other areas of the building.

Opening Hours
Mondays and Tuesdays: 9am-6pm
Wednesdays to Saturdays: 9am-5pm
Sundays: closed
Please note: From 9am until 11am when the Library opens, the cafe opens a take-away service only with seating on the Ground Floor and outside. Toilets are not available during this time.


Food offers from £3.95.
Specialty drinks are caramel latte and mint hot chocolate (with the option to have marshmallows and whipped cream).

You are welcome to bring your own refreshments into the library, but we ask you please only to consume these in the lounge areas on each floor. Vending machines for cold drinks and snacks are also available in the lounge areas.
Please use the recycling bins provided for your rubbish. This helps us to keep the library clean and tidy for the comfort of all our visitors.
