Katie Balaam University of Buckingham

Katie is no stranger to Buckingham after completing a BSc Business Studies with Finance in February 2004. Katie gained her first class degree and shortly following this she joined the Mercedes-Benz graduate programme in Milton Keynes, undertaking a variety of roles, including Control Analyst and Retail Financial Accountant. Whilst working at Mercedes she qualified as an ACCA accountant through BPP, gaining fellow status in 2012.

Katie teaches Introduction to Financial Accounting and Financial Management on the undergraduate programmes, and Financial Reporting on the MSc Finance programme.  Katie is Programme Director for the undergraduate Accounting and Financial Management programme.

Alongside teaching Katie is studying at Birkbeck College, London, for her doctorate in the area of corporate governance and capital structure.

In her spare time Katie enjoys attending Jazzercise classes, travelling and socialising with friends.
