• Hull College Group (HCUK) is the UK’s eighth largest further education institution by income, with an annual turnover of £65m • It supports more than 30,000 students on upwards of 1,000 courses, either on college premises or via work-based learning and community programmes. At least 90 per cent of students progress to employment, further study or training within six months of course completion. *Source: Hull College Group Student Destinations Survey 2014 • Independent research has found that Hull and Goole Colleges make an annual contribution to the economy of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire of £517 million, equivalent to £1 in every £20 spent in the region or more than 23,000 jobs on average wages • This research also found that students at the Colleges enjoy financial benefits lasting a lifetime. For every £1 students spend on tuition fees and in foregone earnings while studying, on average they will receive £4 in higher wages over their lifetime • The Group is a major employer in the region, with a workforce of 1,600 across campuses in Hull, Goole and Harrogate • Hull College was rated as Grade 1 – Outstanding in every area – in its most recent Ofsted inspection. During a visit to Hull College in February 2013, Ofsted’s Chief Inspector, Sir Michael Wilshaw, hailed the College as a “shining beacon of good practice” for the sector • Hull College Group offers technical, professional and academic education and training, ranging from GCSEs and NVQs to degree and post-graduate qualifications.
