Falmouth University BA Photography
Photography at Falmouth has a long and celebrated history and our alumni are widely recognised across diverse photographic contexts nationally and internationally.
Students on our courses experience the specialisms of their chosen field of study, supported by bespoke academic teams whilst sharing the technical facilities and collaborative learning opportunities with students both in photography and across the University. Our in-house photo agency, Cartel Photos, offers students the opportunity to undertake paid commissions and provides an international web platform from which students can sell work to news agencies, magazines and advertising agencies. This agency supports current students and alumni equally.
The photographic resources at Falmouth are considered to be amongst the best in Europe and offer students rich opportunities to create work both digitally and traditionally. Spacious studios, high spec postproduction facilities, and knowledgeable technical experts support a diverse range of photographic practices.
The emphasis within all our specialist photography programmes is on developing ideas and concepts, pushing originality and acquiring high-level skills to ensure work communicates and makes a lasting impact. All the programmes activate an interface between both learning and professional environments and the photography teaching teams ensure both practical and intellectual development. A vibrant visiting speaker programme, practical workshops by leading practioners, and the established annual Falmouth Photo Symposium encourage new ideas and thinking.
