Birmingham City University Masterclasses
Masterclasses and Taster Days
Our Masterclasses and Taster Days are available for both pre and post-16 students and are designed to enhance their studies.
Delivered by our academic staff, the workshops also provide an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about a particular subject, and gain an insight into teaching methods and university life in general.
Visiting the University is an excellent opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience of the university environment. We offer a number of dates, with specific programmes designed for pupils from Year 5 to Year 11.
Each event will contain an investigation into reasons for considering higher education and an introduction to Birmingham City University.
There will also be a number of relevant interactive sessions to engage students, this might include a student budgeting activity, a timetabling and time management workshop, or a higher education quiz.
Students will be introduced to Birmingham City University’s pre-16 prospectus ‘Think Higher’ and material within it that can help them identify their strengths and the type of career they might be suited to.
The Visit Day will also include a campus tour led by own Student Ambassadors. At the end of the session the Ambassadors will also form a panel to answer any questions from our visitors about higher education.
