Warwickshire College Nursery Rugby
Our nursery at Rugby has 56 places for children, whether college students or private customers and provide childcare all year round.
Our nursery provide a warm and stimulating environment, where children can develop according to their individual needs. We are situated in a new building designed by nursery staff which provides learning opportunities for all ages.
The early years foundation stage provides a broad and balanced curriculum where children are given the opportunity to explore, experiment and be creative. Children can benefit from outdoor learning which is provided at both sites.
We have a high level of experienced and qualified staff and each child is cared for by one ‘key person’. All staff hold a level two or three qualifications in childcare and are trained in first aid, food safety and child protection.
Our ‘settling in sessions’ give parents and children a chance to get familiar with our nurseries and get to know their ‘key person’.
We have a large outdoor area with safety surfaces, climbing equipment, building blocks, and space for wheeled vehicles so that the children get lots of fresh air. We also have animals onsite for children to care for.
Older children go to the college library for story time once a week.In the spring and summer we plant and grow vegetables, fruit, and salad ingredients which children help pick and prepare for use in meals.
Our cook works within the nursery to prepare appropriate meals for children with allergies in agreement with parents. Take a look at an example menu. We have a grade five certificate in food hygiene from Rugby Borough Council which is the highest award.
We were rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted at our last inspection. View our last Ofsted report. Our staff have trained using the ‘Time to Talk’ language programme and emphasis is put on developing children’s language within the nursery.
We are open all year round. We are as flexible as possible and therefore is no minimum amount of sessions required, parents can book any number of sessions subject to availability.
