How to Pay Fees

If you’re a full-time home undergraduate student and have applied for a Student Loan to cover the full cost of your fees, the payment will be paid directly to the University.

If you are personally liable for the whole or part of your fees, the payment methods are as follows:

  • in instalments
  • online
  • cheque / debit card
  • in person
  • bank transfer

Payment in instalments

If you do not want to take out a student loan to pay your tuition fees, you can pay by instalments – for no extra charge.

Instalment payments are made via a bank Direct Debit If you choose to pay by Direct Debit you can now pay in three equal instalments. Please contact the Finance Department on 01902 321256 to discuss instalment options.

The instalment dates for the academic year 2017/18 are:

Undergraduate Students

Postgraduate Students

Apply for a Direct Debit online or telephone 01902 321256.

The Direct Debit must be drawn on a UK bank or building society. Failure to pay instalments on the due dates will result in your entitlement to pay by instalments being withdrawn and the balance of fees outstanding becoming due immediately.

This method of payment is only available to students if your course lasts at least a year, and where the tuition fee you are expected to pay personally exceeds £200.

If you have opted to pay by Direct Debit and you change the number of modules you are studying, your Direct Debit mandate will not be automatically amended. Please contact the Finance Department/ Income Section on tel. 01902 321256 or by e mail on


You can pay online with ePayment.

If you are paying in advance of receiving your invoice please type ADVANCE in the invoice number field. This payment will be allocated to your account and matched against your tuition invoice. Note that you can also pay your accommodation fees here.

By cheque / debit card etc

All cheques should be made payable to the University of Wolverhampton and return it to the University of Wolverhampton, PO Box 4018, Finance Department, Wolverhampton, WV1 1WF.

The following debit/credit cards are accepted: Switch, VisaDelta, Solo, Mastercard, Eurocard and Visa.

In person

Pay at a site cashier by cash, cheque or debit/credit card, available at City Campus (MX Building, ground floor), Walsall and Telford.

By bank transfer

This method is recommended for international students, in particular for the deposit. This will ensure that your unconditional offer is despatched promptly.

All payments to the University must be made in pounds sterling. You are required to meet all bank charges relating to the transfer.
