Internships –You can choose to gain valuable work experience through taking an internship (sandwich placement) as part of your programme of study. Full support in preparing and securing internships is provided through our dedicated support team.
Study abroad – You can choose to undertake one semester or a full year study abroad at one of our EU partners, as part of your programme of study.
Working with real managers – We find many opportunities for you to work with practising managers, from company projects, guest lectures and site visits through to short internships or full year long sandwich placements.
Developing real business skills – Studying at Wolverhampton will allow you to develop the skills businesses demand including IT, project management, team working and leadership.
Careers support and guidance – You will be able to gain an Employability Award. Having developed your CV and enhanced your interview skills you will be able to undertake a short internship to prepare yourself to gain employment on graduation.
Volunteering – You can gain valuable employability skills through volunteering. Opportunities exist for you to work with voluntary organisations.
Starting your own business – Not only will you develop the business acumen necessary to start and manage your own business but on-going support is available both during your studies and on graduation to help you make a success of your business start-up.
Management mentors – You will have the opportunity to be mentored by a senior manager from the region through our Institute of Directors mentoring scheme or alumni.

Tutors who know about business – The tutors on this programme have experience as practicing managers, worked with business in an advisory capacity or will be researching business and management in order that what you learn is current, leading edge thinking which has real relevance to the world of business.
A friendly and supportive environment – We are known for the support we provide to our students. Whether pastoral or study advice your personal tutor and course leader are there to give you the support you need, when you need it.
Blended learning – The School has developed a blended learning approach where lecture and tutorial activities are supported by online learning to become a seamless learning experience both in and outside of the classroom.
Flexibility – The programme offered gives you flexibility over your study options as you progress and develop, whether this is choosing to study abroad or take an internship or being able to move between the courses we offer.
Professional body informed programmes – The school has strong professional body links and these are used to inform the curriculum to ensure they reflect the latest professional thinking and standards and to maximise the exemptions and accreditation you will gain alongside studying your programme.
Internationalisation – Our international student and staff body and a curriculum underpinned by internationalisation will enable you to learn how to operate in a global business environment.
On completing the course, you will be equipped with the background for a wide variety of positions in business. You will have developed skills and background knowledge needed for a wide variety of business areas, and learned the fundamentals of the various functional areas of business, including management, marketing, human resources, finance, including operations and management systems.
Whilst many of these careers are open to graduates in any subject, some employers may specify, or give preference to graduates in business-related subjects. A career in business is varied and can involve the functions such as management and marketing and there is an increasing need for business management skills in government, international commerce, health care, and non-profit organisations. Careers as entry-level manager, Human Resources specialist, Assistant Product Manager, Business Analyst, Market Researcher are some of the possibilities.
Students may decide to continue their studies at Master’s level. The University offers a number of different Master’s courses including Masters in Management and Masters in International Business Management.
This course has been accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
The CMI have been established for over 60 years and are the only chartered professional body in the UK dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. Over 100,000 managers use their services.
The programme gives you the option to apply for the CMI level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management and offers all of the benefits of being a CMI member. You can progress further to become a Chartered Manager.

- Successful completion of the foundation year of our BA (Hons) Business Management with Foundation Year guarantees entry on to this course
- Successful completion of the International Foundation Year in Social Sciences guarantees entry on to this course
Students must have studied a minimum of two years post GCSE level. However, it is expected that some applicants will be mature students with work experience, who wish to further their career development. These applicants will be processed through standard procedures, which may involve an interview as part of the process. Please seehttp://wlv.ac.uk/mature for further information.
Those who do not meet the entry requirements may be offered an alternative course.
