Whatever your grade we aim to provide a training environment that will stretch you physically and mentally, whilst being safe and progressive in the art of teaching Karate.

The club has access to regional and National Squad training. We have inclusion into regional national and internationally recognised competitions. The Sheffield Shotokan Karate Club is also a participant in the National Coaching Scheme.

Sheffield Shotokan Karate Club is run by Sensei Bob Hague (6th Dan), who has been training in Karate for 39 years.
We are a very social and friendly Club that runs on the basis of a bunch of people who are trying to perfect the imperfectable.
Our main adult classes run on Mondays and Wednesdays. With additional classes run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Also private tuition is availiable. Childrens classes are run on Saturdays.

The Saturday class is a learn and compete session, with our young at heart members bearing in mind that the youngsters are the future of the club.

All the instructors are fully licensed and insured, CRB background checked through the sports governing body (Karate England) and The Governing Body of Sheffield Shotokan Karate Club licensing authority (Amateur Martial Association) and hold a current first aid certificate.

Our main Adult class run on a Monday and on Thursday, with additional General classes running on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Monday and Wednesday classes are run at our Dojo.

If you would like to train at Sheffield Shotokan KC

Please contact Sensei Bob Hague using the form below. Bob will take you through the steps you need to become a member of SSKC, including obtaining an AMA licence.

If you train with us, and don’t already have one, then you will need an AMA licence, which also includes insurance.

All Dojo’s are covered by full public liability insurance with the senior Sensei’s covered by instructors insurance.

Once you join, there will be a trial period to make sure that you are comfortable with the environment and training.

After this period we require you to obtain a formal Karate suit (Gi), these can be purchased from the SSKC, through the Internet or a large sportswear retailer such as Decathlon.

Please arrive half an 15 mins before the start of the training session to get changed and sign in.
