Pay direct to the University’s bank account

If you would like to pay a University of Sheffield invoice by bank transfer (BACS or CHAPS), please contact the appropriate team in the Income Office in the Department of Finance for a copy of our bank details.

When making your request to pay by bank transfer please provide the following information:

  • Your customer number (shown on your invoice) or your applicant or student registration number
  • Your full name, your company name and company address
  • Your name, email address or fax number that you require details sending to

We will then provide you with our bank details

How to provide your bank details

All fully registered students at the University have a MUSE account where you can securely enter your bank details.

Entering your new bank details:

  • Login to your MUSE account
  • Click on My Services
  • Click on View all services
  • Select B and click on Bank Details

Information you will need

  • Bank account name
  • Bank account number
  • Bank sort code

The University will use the bank details you provide to pay you any Student Awards including Scholarship, Bursary, Financial Support or Expenses Incurred payments. Please ensure the bank details you enter are correct. The University is not responsible for payments made to incorrect accounts where you have given those details.

If you want payment to be made to a Building Society account (with the exception of a Nationwide Building Society Account which can be processed in the same way as a UK bank account – see above) please email paymentstostudents@sheffield.ac.uk for further details.
