Information Services

Stirling was one of the first British universities to bring together media, computing, networking and library facilities into integrated Information Services to support its students, teachers, researchers and administrative staff.

Information Services

Information Services is here to ensure that you are able to use the library and IT facilities available to best effect to support your studies. On arrival at the University, you can attend a Library and IT induction event which incorporates essential IT related information such as Wi-Fi access, how to print, how to access core services such as Canvas, (the university’s online learning environment), reading lists and Library resources.

University Library

The University Library is centrally located in the Andrew Miller Building on campus.  With a variety of study spaces, electronic and print resources, it is central to your student life.  Read more about the library.

IT Facilities

In addition to the computers available in the library, the University has a large number of computing labs, many of which are available to you 24 hours a day.  Students at the University have their own email accounts and file storage on the University network as well as cloud storage via Box.  All students have access to the University portal, an online gateway to key learning resources such as Canvas (our online learning environment), library electronic resources, as well as their individual academic records, email accounts and various online University services. Wi-Fi access is available throughout the Campus including in the University Residences.

IT Support

The Information Centre is the main enquiry point for Information Services. It is located in the Library and can help with any enquiry relating to the Library (finding resources, using the various services located in the building) or any aspect of IT services.
