University of Exeter Football

The University of Exeter’s Men’s Football Club, with 300 playing members and 10 teams, is one of the largest and fastest growing sports club at the University. Club affairs are overseen by a well-established and dedicated network of Committee members, coaches and the University Athletic Union.

The club boasts excellent training facilities at the University Sports Centre: a Rubber Crumb astroturf and a sand astroturf as well as the High Performance Centre and brand new The Russell Seal Fitness Centre. The 1st and 2nd XI matches are played at the University’s Topsham Sports Ground, whilst all other club fixtures take place at the University grounds, Duckes Meadow. The club has benefitted hugely from having both grass and synthetic playing surfaces as well as coaching and mentoring from highly experienced staff.

The 1st XI currently play in the South West Peninsula league and BUCS Premier South league. In 2014, we saw the addition of our 5th team into BUCS football, making the club one of the largest out of the UK Universities. All teams compete on weekends under the Devon FA. The club expects enthusiasm and a high level of commitment from all members and in return we will provide them with one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling experiences they will have at University, having the opportunity to compete week in – week out at a level suitable to their playing capacity.
