University of Exeter Distance Learning
University of Exeter Distance Learning, modular and part time study
We are continuously improving the range of postgraduate programmes available and increasingly taking advantage of modern technology in order to widen the ways in which you can study for a postgraduate qualification.
As well as part-time options for the majority of taught and research degrees, we offer an increasing number of Masters degrees available via distance learning which make use of web technology and require little or no attendance on campus, or degrees which you can study in a modular format to enable you to continue with your career.
Similarly, in most fields of research there are opportunities to study for a split-site Exeter PhD enabling you to remain in your own country for most of your study; and benefiting from reduced fees at Exeter as a result. You will receive supervision and support from Exeter staff and normally be expected to attend the University for limited periods, but will need access to appropriate academic facilities locally. This form of study is particularly appropriate if you work in an academic institution overseas. Please contact the department to discuss opportunities.
Continuing professional development
We offer a range of programmes specifically developed for working professionals, with particular specialisms in
- medicine and healthcare
- clinical psychology
- mining and engineering
- public administration.
These programmes include research degrees, such as professional doctorates, and taught degrees, which are often delivered via block, blended, or distance learning to enable you to fit them around your working life.
