Join a Society

Hertfordshire Students’ Union has over 100 societies that you can join. Ranging from music and dance to cultural and subject related there is something for everyone!

Students who joined societies have…

  • Gained valuable skills and had the opportunity to try something new
  • Improved their health and wellbeing
  • Made friends for life and awesome memories
  • Been able to talk about their experience to potential employers

You don’t have to take out word for it though – find out what some of our society members have to say.

Adopt an Inactive Society

Can’t find what you’re looking for on our list of societies? Did we previously have the society and now it’s gone?

Every year, for some reason or another, we have a few societies that don’t continue running.

Take a look at the list below and see if you want to restart one of these societies. To get it off the ground for this year you’ll need another two people to help you run it. Once you’ve got your committee together send us an email at societies@hertfordshire.su and we’ll arrange an induction where you’ll be trained in running your new society!

If you want to start a completely brand new society that we’ve never had on campus before, our Affiliation Form can be found here.

Societies Forum

What is Societies Forum?

Societies Forum is a meeting where students can catch up on the latest news in societies. Gathering six times a year societies this is their chance to share their achievements with each other and also feedback any difficulties to each other and the Students’ Union. The Students’ Union also takes this as an opportunity to give them any notice or make them aware of things that might interest them

Below you’ll find agendas, minutes and supporting documents from the Soceites Forum.
