Pub Manager

Are you passionate about pubs, have great business acumen and want to work in a venue which is highly rated for its customer service?

Yes? Then look no further!

We are an established pub/bar (EleHouse) on site of University of Hertfordshire College Lane campus and are soon approaching our 40 years anniversary. We’re looking for an experienced Pub Manager to join our successful venues team in the not-for-profit sector! You will be part of a wider team who operate the Forum Hertfordshire which is our 2250 capacity late night venue.  The Elehouse is the social hub on campus, our much loved bar and its kitchen operates daily offering food, drink and entertainment. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of and you feel like you can bring new and exciting ideas to the table, we’d love to hear from you. The suitable candidate will provide dynamic leadership in a fast paced and varied environment and be experienced in managing a similar establishment. You must have strong management experience both front and back of house.

External Trustee (Three positions available)

Hertfordshire Students’ Union is a registered charity and the official representative voice for all students at the University of Hertfordshire. Our aim is to make student life at the University of Hertfordshire incredible.

We are governed by a Board of Trustees, made up of five elected officer trustees, three student trustees and four external trustees. We are looking for external trustees with significant experiences across a range of areas to help shape the look and feel of our organisation at a strategic level.

The position is voluntary (although reasonable expenses will be paid) and trustees are asked to attend six meetings per year – one of which is a day long strategy/team building day.  The term of office is three years, and external trustees can serve a maximum of two terms.  Our ideal candidate would have experience in at least one of the below areas:

  • Organisational management or experience of governance
  • General business activities and income generation
  • Human resources or organisational development
  • Higher Education and Students’ Unions in particular
  • Strategic planning
  • Legal knowledge or company/charity law

Events Assistant

To support the marketing department with the planning, advertising and monitoring of all SU events and activities. This will involve liaising with clubs, societies, volunteering groups, schools, organisations and other departments within the University of Hertfordshire and local community. The role will also involve performing administrative duties and undertaking any other appropriate duties as required.

Marketing & Communications Assistant

Zero hour contract | up to 20 hrs per week | £7.05 per hour.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the SU Marketing Communications Team and gain experience in coordinating marketing communication and events. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals that will act as ambassadors for Hertfordshire Students’ Union. Not only will you be involved in the planning of marketing events campaigns, you will be also be tasked with going out and talking to students, gaining their feedback and building awareness of SU and its services.

Social Media Assistant

To support the marketing department with the planning, monitoring and posting of all SU events and activities through the Social Media channels. You will mainly be working on the Commercial channels and promotions e.g. The Forum Hertfordshire and at times may be asked to work on other wider Marketing campaigns and to assist with events.

Content Marketing Assistant

Zero hour contract | up to 20 hrs per week | £7.05 per hour.

If you want to join a fun, hard-working and creative team while working flexibly around your studies and gaining valuable employability skills, this could be the role for you.

As the Content Marketing Assistant, you will support the Marketing department by creating content for marketing promotions for the different services and departments in the Students’ Union.

This will include writing articles and creating content for the website and assisting with the creation of video content and blogs. You will also be expected to seek opportunities to create content for the Students’ Union channels, including topical pieces. This may also include gathering content for evening events.
