Our BA (Hons) International Business is a dynamic degree designed to help you become one of tomorrow’s business leaders. Supported by Hertfordshire Business School’s experienced academic team, you’ll gain the management skills, language abilities and cultural awareness you  need to thrive in the international business environment.

It’s a four-year course filled with exciting travel opportunities. As well as studying here with us in the UK, you’ll have the chance to live and work abroad for either one or two years – travelling to one, two or even three other countries. This powerful international experience, combined with your new language skills, will make you a stand-out candidate with a real competitive edge.

Spending your Third Year abroad is compulsory and you’ll be able to do so in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia or Australia. You can spend the whole year in one country or split your time between two. Equally, while you’re abroad, you can study at one of our accredited partner universities for the full year or spend half studying and the other half on a work placement. You can also choose to study abroad in your Second Year, taking the equivalent course at one of our partner universities.

Although this is a four-year degree, you won’t have to pay tuition fees in your compulsory third year abroad. If you study abroad in your Second Year too, you’ll only pay 15% of your fees for that year. If you travel to Europe, you’ll be eligible for an Erasmus grant, and if you travel outside Europe you may be eligible for one of our Global Scholarships or a Santander Universities Scholarship.

Because they give you such a career advantage, studying a language is compulsory in the First Year. After that, language study is optional, but if you decide to study the same language throughout your degree, it will be included in your degree title. You can choose French, German, Spanish, Mandarin or Japanese.
