Clubs and societies

You can join all kinds of clubs and societies through the Students’ Union University of Greenwich (Greenwich and Avery Hill Campuses) or Greenwich & Kent Students’ Unions Together (Medway Campus).

The most popular team sports have multiple teams and many of them compete against other universities in the British Universities and Colleges Sports leagues (BUCS). Medway students can join SUUG sports clubs but most prefer to join GK Unions’ own clubs.
Sports facilities across the campuses include pitches for football and rugby, courts for badminton and tennis and gyms to train in. Footballers at Avery Hill can use an artificial playing surface built by Charlton Athletic Football Club. The SU is also promoting recreational pick-up football this year.

There are many societies you can join. They represent and wide range of interests – click on the links above to find one for you. Or start your own!

The Students’ Union has something for everyone – why not find out what it has for you?

University Of Greenwich Societies

So you have come to university and want to learn something new? Or maybe join people who share your interests? See if there is a society for you. We pride ourselves on giving students as much chance as possible to get involved.

Being part of a society can teach you a lot of skills like teamwork and organisation. Many of our societies hold events, so if you are interested in event management then a society could be a great first step.
