3D Digital Design and Animation, BA Hons  UNDERGRADUATE 2017

This 3D Digital Design and Animation programme from the University of Greenwich deals with the technical and aesthetic aspects of 3D design and animation. It successfully combines traditional art and design principles such as observational drawing and modelling, with the possibilities of computing and digital media.

3D digital design and animation is one of the most rapidly expanding areas of creativity and technical development. Animated films, television and advertising graphics, computer games design and architectural modelling are some of the most visible products of this industry. The explosive growth of digital media and the computer arts industries have created global demand for designers and animators, and suitably qualified professionals in this field are in high demand in the UK and abroad. Overview

This programme deals with the technical and aesthetic aspects of 3D design and animation. It successfully combines traditional art and design principles such as observational drawing and modelling, with the possibilities of computing and digital media.

You will explore design and creative thinking, form and context, animation and film, computing and technology, and sound design. You will also be encouraged to develop highly specialised skills in these areas, in line with your own ambitions. The Department of Creative Professions and Digital Arts is a member of the Design and Art Direction College Network and students exhibit at the New Blood and Free Range graduate degree shows.

Facilities

The Department is based in a new state of the art building designed by the award winning architects Heneghan Peng; it is equipped with fourteen rooftop landscapes, cutting edge digital workshops, extensive design studios, a world-class library and two gallery spaces. Stockwell Street is just a short walk from the university’s buildings on the Old Royal Naval College site.
