To make sure you make the most of your time at university, the counselling service helps with any emotional, psychological or mental health difficulties you may experience.

The service is free, confidential and run by qualified, professional counsellors who understand the pressures of university life.

We offer:

  • one-to-one counselling
  • drop-in sessions
  • a programme of workshops and courses
  • couples’ counselling
  • specialist sexual health counselling
  • support for house and study groups in conflict

The university counselling service works in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Ethical Framework of Good Practice.

Counselling and Wellbeing Service

Counselling Drop-in Service

The Univeristy of Gloucestershire Counselling Service runs a Drop-in Service out of the Campus HelpZone on Monday-Thursdsay Lunchtimes. The Drop-in offers a same day service for students seeking support from personal difficulties or at stressful times. it is an opportunity to talk things through with a professional counsellor. Appointments last up to 25 minutes and we are able to offer 2 appointments per day

Thursday 1-2pm FCH

Wellbeing Drop-in Service 

Come and Talk to one of the Univeristy Wellbeing Adisers. Wellbeing sessions last up to 15 minutes and are on a first come first-served basis.

Wednesday 1-2pm Oxstals HelpZone with Clare

1-2pm FCH HelpZone with Tina

 

We Reccommend using the Counselling or Wellbeing Drop-in Service if you:

  • Would benefit from briefly discussing an issue and wish to gain another perspective
  • Are not sure if counselling is right for you, but want to find out more
  • Are unclear as to the different options available to yo and wish be sign-posted to the most appropiate types of support
  • Please be aware that the Drop-in operates on first-come-first-served basis and they cannot always guarantee an appointment. We would advise arriving early to avoid disappointment. if the service is busy, information on the Univeristy Counselling Service will be made availble to you and you can return to the next availble Drop-in
