Created in conjunction with industry leaders, this course is taught by practising professionals who have worked on animation projects such as Max Bear, Total Recall and How to Train Your Dragon. Working in our new animation studio, you’ll be trained to use the latest animation equipment, including the latest Adobe Suite, Maya, TVPaint and Wacom Pro Tablets.

You’ll have the freedom to develop your own style and career path, learning the skills you need to flourish in this rapidly-changing industry, from award-winning animators. Whether you have an interest in feature films, television, games, apps, advertising or music videos, this course will prepare you thoroughly and give you plenty of opportunities for practical experience and review.

You’ll have the opportunity to visit Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France each year, the most prestigious animation festival in the world. There are additional opportunities to visit Bradford, Bristol, Exeter and London international animation festivals, too, where you can network and showcase your work. You’ll also be able to work on live projects. For example, this year, the animation team are working with Mont Blanc University in Annecy, developing a Europe-wide transmedia animation project.

Study style

Consisting of 80% practice and 20% theory, this course is built around workshops and portfolio development. You’ll also work on a variety of live projects. This year, the animation team are working with Annecy Council in France to develop animation in support of its tourism promotion.
