The Marketing, Recruitment and International Office (MRIO) is an ambitious Service, whose mission is to support the University in achieving its key performance targets, through the development of innovative approaches and processes for recruiting and admitting students. MRIO is responsible for:

  • attracting and admitting talented home and international students;
  • encouraging students from disadvantaged backgrounds to realise their potential;
  • enabling colleagues to enhance our global reach and reputation through the development and delivery of partnership and business development strategies.

MRIO strives to provide a professional and efficient service for internal and external stakeholders – making the most of its resources – to deliver good value for the University.

Internationalisation is led by the Senior Vice-Principal and International Deans with support from MaRIO. Our Internationalisation strategy was approved in 2010 and it articulates our international priorities spanning six cross-cutting themes:

  • the student experience
  • research and knowledge transfer
  • partnerships
  • alumni
  • staff
  • local engagement.
