Printing

The University provides a managed printing service which allows students to securely print, scan and copy from any ‘Pull” printer on campus.

Connecting to the Pull Print Service from Windows

  • Go to https://laptopprint.gla.ac.uk
  • Scroll down and click Download IPP-Printer for Windows
  • Run the downloaded file, click Yes if prompted
  • Enter your GUID and password and click Login
  • Select Pullprint from the list and click Install, click Yes when prompted

Now change the settings to enable colour and double-sided printing:

  • Click the Start button, then Devices and Printers
  • Right click PullPrint and choose Printer Properties
  • Got to the Device settings tab
  • In the Device type box choose Color [A4]
  • Tick the2-sided Printing option below.
  • Click OK

NOTE: If you want to print in colour, you must specify this in the Printing Preferences/Properties when you send a document to print. Also remember to collect your work from a colour printer!

Manual Installation

  • Click the Start button
  • In Search programs and files box enter \\sc-spooler2.campus.gla.ac.uk. This will display the printers on the sc-spooler print server.
  • Scroll down and select PULLPRINTING
  • Right click and select Connect
  • You will be prompted to allow the installation of the driver, select OK. The driver will automatically install from the server.
  • When complete, click the Start button again then Devices and Printers
  • Right click the PULLPRINTING printer icon and select Set as Default Printer

  • You can collect your print jobs from any pull printer on campus.
  • You can collect mono (black and white) jobs from any printer. You will only be charged for a mono print.
  • You must collect colour jobs from a colour printer!
  • When you send a document to print, it will go to your personal document store. You then have up to 72 hours to collect it. After 72 hours the document will be deleted from your store.
  • Printing a document automatically removes it from your personal document store.
  • Check the contents of your personal document store, and remove items you no longer need at https://myprinting.gla.ac.uk
