University of East London Volunteering

Volunteering is a key way for you to build your skills, improve your employability and stand out from the crowd in today’s competitive jobs market. Including volunteering experience on your CV is a great way to demonstrate key skills to potential employers.

Volunteering is also a great way to make a difference to the communities around you. Volunteer at a time that suits you. This can work alongside your studies and other commitments. Volunteer to build skills in your chosen area and for a cause that you believe in.
Visit the UEL Volunteering Hub to see the latest volunteering opportunities. You can search the roles but in order to apply you will need to register and then attend a short induction by UEL Volunteering. Once you register we will be in touch to arrange your induction. For help and support to identify a role please contact UEL Volunteering.

Steps to volunteering

(1) Firstly, check out the latest volunteer opportunities online at the UEL Volunteering Hub
(2) Register on the hub and you will be contacted by UEL Volunteering to arrange a short induction
(3) Apply for any roles that you like. You should hear back from the organisation within a week. Contact UEL Volunteering if not
(4) Once you begin volunteering, ensure you log your hours through the hub to earn awards and other perks. Ensure your host organisation logs your hours too as this is what counts for volunteering awards
(5) You will hear from us or directly from our community partners,  to find out if your application has been successful.
