Our rugby club

The club is one of the longest running clubs at UEL. Our club offers men and women the opportunity to play, from beginners to advanced players. We play 15-sided and 7-sided competitive games.

The rugby club currently has one men’s and one women’s team that compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Leagues & Cup, and we play every Wednesday afternoon.

Facilities

Our club trains every Monday from 7pm to 9pm at the East London Rugby Club.

Benefits

We provide a number of additional playing opportunities for our members, in addition to the 7’s tournaments we play in both student RFU friendly leagues and compete in EMC Cup in Normandy, France with Greenwich University.

The University of East London (UEL) is a public university in the London Borough of Newham, London, England, based at three campuses in Stratford and Docklands, following the opening of University Square Stratford in September 2013. The university’s roots can be traced back to 1892 when the West Ham Technical Institute was established. It gained university status in 1992. As of October 2015 it has more than 19,000 students from 120 countries.
