Hardship fund

Short Term Loans

Limited financial assistance can be offered through a Short Term Loan to students whose Student Finance has been delayed significantly beyond the start of the term. The maximum loan is £500, the short term loan must be repaid within 10 days of receipt of your Student Finance. Hardship Fund

As part of City’s commitment to provide financial assistance for their students in financial hardship, we have the City, University of London Hardship Fund. The fund provides financial support to all our current students who have met unforeseen financial hardship during their studies. The maximum award is £1,000, and £1,200 for those students with a disability and/or dependants. For many students an award from our Hardship Fund can make all the difference, allowing students to focus on their studies and successfully graduate.

The Mary Trevelyan Hardship Fund

The Mary Trevelyan Hardship Fund offers grants of up to £1,000 to successful eligible students, please visit their website for further details.

Finsbury Educational Foundation Grants

The Finsbury Educational Foundation Grants provide financial support for Home/UK students studying Midwifery, Nursing, Radiography and Speech and Language Therapy. A limited number of students will be invited to apply for a grant and must be able to demonstrate that they have exhausted all other sources of potential student funding. Grants offered normally range from around £500 to £1,000. Eligible students will be contacted by the Financial Support Team between October 2016 and June 2017.

Individual Awards

Some students gain individual awards from various external charitable foundations and government bodies. You may wish to search for local charities through your local library or online charity registers for further support.
