University of East London Football (Men’s)
UEL’s Football Club is the University’s largest club, consisting of three teams all competing in BUCS fixtures. The club consists of players and staff passionate about the game with a real emphasis on success recognised by the club’s rich trophy cabinet. Our football teams have won countless trophies with our first team on a six year promotion streak and a first ever BUCS cup winners trophy in 2013.
This continuous success has seen the club achieve Sports Club of the year in 2012-2013 during our annual Sports Awards event. The club continues to grow through the inclusion of several sports scholars with a history of professional experience in the game, both nationally and internationally aiding the long-term intention of joining the BUCS premier league in 2016.
Our UEL Football Club have also experienced fantastic opportunities to compete abroad through our recent visit to Malaysia in 2014 and our planned trip to China in 2016.
Facilities and training
UEL is proud to host their home games on the show pitch at the fantastic Hackney Marshes facility. Training takes part on a Monday evening between 5pm and 7pm on the 3G pitch at West Ham memorial; a two minute walk from West Ham train station.
UEL’s Docklands campus is also home to our £21m SportsDock facility where students can train on our outdoor football pitch or indoor futsal arena, and our gym facilities.
As a football scholar you have the added benefit of our specially built scholars gym based in our Aqua East
