Nightlife

A lively, sociable atmosphere A lively, sociable atmosphere

In addition to University’s renowned LCR venue which hosts regular club nights, the city centre caters for all music tastes, from mainstream rock and pop and R&B to alternative indie, drum ‘n’ bass and underground dance. The music scene is ever-evolving, many of the smaller clubs and venues run by local students and collectives, providing a thriving alternative to the mainstream clubs and bars.

The popular Riverside area has plenty of pre-club bars and clubs. Prince of Wales Road is always popular on the weekend and houses many of the city’s clubs.

There are over 300 pubs and bars in the city, each with their own unique vibe. The Golden Triangle has an excellent selection of cosy pubs which are well established within the student community, offering regular quiz evenings and film nights to provide variety to the evening.

Norwich by night

10 great nights out in Norwich – student nightlife at UEA 10 great nights out in Norwich – student nightlife at UEA

Norwich is a great student city with a vibrant nightlife. UEA undergraduate student Jessica Howard gives you a run down on 10 things to do in Norwich on an evening out.

Although you’re technically in Norwich to study, you can’t go through your time at uni without experiencing some of the nightlife the city has to offer. Make sure you don’t spend your entire three years locked in your room, stressing out about coursework deadlines (I’m sure you won’t, but just in case).

1. The big night out on campus

UEA wouldn’t be UEA without the LCR. Hosting everything from weekly club nights to gigs and plays, anyone who tells you they haven’t been there at least once throughout their time at UEA is clearly lying! Plus, you definitely won’t be the only one feeling a little bit groggy for your 9am lecture on Wednesday morning.
