**Please note – this is a limited service on a Saturday morning for routine (non-urgent) pre-booked appointments.  If you do not have an appointment and you feel your problem is urgent, please call NHS 111 service (see out of hours details below).  Alternatively, visit the NHS Walk-in Centre at Rouen Road (near Castle Mall), open 7 days per week, 8am-8pm, telephone 01603 677500.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Please note: Ante-natal appointments & blood tests – Please call reception to book, as special clinics are arranged for these. Please do not book into any other clinic for these appointments as they will need to be re-arranged.

Doctor Appointments

Routine appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals. In special circumstances 20 minute appointments are available. Please tell the receptionist if you think you need a 20 minute appointment.

Telephone Appointments

You can also book a telephone appointment with a doctor or nurse – when you call to book an appointment, please ask the receptionist for more details. These are 5 minute appointments.

Text Message Appointment Reminder Service

We operate an appointment reminder service in the form of a text message to your mobile phone where you should receive a text up to 24 hours before, with your appointment details on.  If we have your mobile number already, you will automatically be registered to receive these text messages but, if you would prefer to opt out of these reminders, please let us know so we can exclude you from this service.

Nursing Service ‘Book on Day’ Clinics

Every morning and afternoon, Monday – Friday.  To book one of these appointments, you need to phone on the day.  These are 10 minute appointments.

  • Bone injuries and sprains
  • Hayfever, bites and stings
  • Diarrhoea and vomiting

Nurse Appointments A (pre-bookable)

Available daily at various times.  For certain conditions, patients are encouraged to book an appointment (this reduces possible waiting times).  These are 10 minute appointments.

Nurse Appointments B – Sexual Health

This service is available most days to all MALE and FEMALE registered patients.  All our services are confidential, non-judgemental and open to all.  We can offer support, advice and STI (sexually transmitted infection) screening.   These are 15 minute appointments.

  • Contraception – all methods
  • Emergency contraception
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Cervical smears
  • Hepatitis B vaccinations for men who have sex with men
  • Testing for most sexually transmitted infections and guidance for those requiring further testing
  • Treatment for STIs
  • Safer sex advice
  • HIV testing and advice
  • Chlamydia testing for men and women
  • Any other issues related to sexual health

Health Care Assistant

This service is available most days, at various times, Monday – Friday.  These are 10 minute appointments.

  • CVD checks
  • Diabetic reviews

Parking

Please park in the main car park and bring your parking token with you so reception can validate it.

If you are unable to park in the main car park, there are a few designated parking bays on University Drive (you will need to get a permit from reception to park here otherwise you may get clamped) and there are disabled parking bays directly outside the main entrance.
