University of dundee history modules

 An honours degree normally takes four years, full time, you study levels 1-4, as described below. It is possible to study for most of our honours degrees in three years if you have the required grades and subjects, in that case you would study levels 2-4 below.
(Please note the following modules are those currently on offer for session 2016/17, and may change from year to year, current students – use the Current Students webpages).

Level 1

History / Scottish Historical Studies students can take the following modules:

Plus additional module options from an approved list (available at matriculation from your Adviser of Studies).

Level 2

History / Scottish Historical Studies students can take the following modules:

Plus additional module options from an approved list, which you select towards the end of your first year.

Level 3

Single Honours History / Scottish Historical Studies students must take the core module plus three other History modules from:

History – Level 3

Semester 1

Semester 2

Level 4

History / Scottish Historical Studies students must normally study either a Special Subject Module or a Research Dissertation – HY40001, plus other History modules from the following:

History- Level 4

Special Subject module – Please note this is a year-long module worth 60 credits
