University of Derby Occupational Therapy

Welcome to Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy enables people to engage in meaningful activities by helping them to overcome any barriers preventing them from reaching their potential. These activities or occupations can vary from people’s paid/unpaid work, self care activities through to sports and leisure.

  • Our BSc (Hons) and MSc Pre registration occupational therapy offer work placements which give you real opportunities to refine and enhance your professional skills. This will make you more employable.
  • Our BSc (Hons) and MSc Pre registration occupational therapy are accredited by our professional body, The College of Occupational Therapists and approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
  • If you’ve already got a degree in a different subject, you can still study our MSc Pre-Registration Occupational Therapy course and be eligible to become an occupational therapist when you graduate.
  • We have extensive opportunities for Masters level and doctoral level studies if you are already qualified as an occupational therapist.

Facilities

We’re proud of our occupational therapy facilities. You’ll use our specially created kitchen, and other facilities in our Clinical Skills Suite, to apply what you’ve learned in a real life setting.
