University of Derby Housing, We understand that choosing the right place to live whilst at University can be challenging, and that problems with lanlords, rent payment of house mates can arise throughout the year.

Hopefully the information below will be useful, but if you can’t find what you’re looking for then please book an appointment with a Student Advisor in Help & Advice, and we will do our best to help you.

Halls of residence

Most first year students live in halls – they’re just a short walk from our campuses and a great place to make friends. They offer you safe, good value accommodation with other students.

If you’d like to have a look around our halls before you apply, come along to an Open Days.

University-approved private accommodation

If you’d prefer to rent a private property, we can help you find the right place through our registered private housing scheme.

Together with the Council and the landlord, we assess all the properties registered so you can be confident they’ll be safe and comfortable.

If you’re planning to study at our Chesterfield Campus, please visit our Chesterfield Accommodation pages

We wouldn’t want you to rush into a decision and so would ask that you think about the reasons for disliking living in Halls.
