The qualification has been developed at the University of Derby in partnership with The Institute of Quarrying – the international professional body for the quarry product industries.

This is a ‘distance learning’ qualification studied over one academic year.  The use of cutting edge software has enabled the integration of a variety of high-quality media within the online study materials. In addition, the use of interactive self-assessment questions help the student better understand the subject matter.

Also, the use of virtual classroom technology, which will allow lecturers and students to work together on selected dates throughout the year.

Entry Requirements

These courses are open to all. If you have experience in the quarrying industry plus positive support from your employer, we will welcome your application. If your first language is not English, we normally require one of the following qualifications:

  • IELTS 6.0
  • TOEFL 550 (PC 213, online 93)
  • International GCE O-Level English Grade C
  • International GCSE English/English as a Second Language Grade C
