We developed our diploma in collaboration with Local Ambulance Services, so you can be sure that you’ll learn the latest pre-hospital emergency care guidance to help you advance in your profession.Given the nature of your role, we understand the need for a flexible approach to learning. That’s why we offer a part-time course taught through distance and work-based learning, so you don’t have to struggle balancing your education against the demands of shift work. Our subject specialist team members have extensive experience in helping produce top level paramedics, so you can trust that your development is in safe hands.

Our course is entirely designed around the demands of your role. You will study primarily through distance and work-based learning, using innovative e-learning technologies to let you study around your busy schedule. We offer a variety of optional modules to help specialise your training to suit your intended career path.

We appreciate the true value of experiential learning, working with local ambulance services to ensure that your training is relevant to modern pre-hospital emergency care. You’ll develop academic skills that will help further your progression as a paramedic, with the option to study each module as a stand-alone course if you prefer.

Selection criteria

To access this course you must be a qualified paramedic, registered with the Health Professionals Council or an equivalent and presently working in an emergency ambulance service or similar accident and emergency/first contact health care practice environment.
You will need to provide a statement from your current employer who must make reference to your professional competence.
You will need access to an appropriate facilitator who will facilitate your learning in practice for the module HPHG5012 Consultation and Physical Examination Assessment Skills.
