Newton Rigg College is situated on the edge of the Lake District and within walking distance of the market town of Penrith. We’re proud to be part of the fastest growing land-based College group in the country, thanks to our range of existing courses, great teaching and fantastic facilities. We not only offer courses in the land-based sector (agriculture, gamekeeping, animal and equine management, forestry, horticulture and agricultural engineering), we also offer general Further Education courses as well (uniformed public services, sport – indoor and outdoor, hairdressing and beauty therapy, childhood studies and health and social care).
We have courses to suit just about everyone, whether you are looking for an entry level starter course, an interesting practical course that gives you qualifications to go to University, a work-based learning course, which means you can earn whilst you learn, or anything in between. Our residential campus at Newton Rigg has a thriving social scene with good food and fantastic extra curricula activities.
Our lecturers all have a vast knowledge of their subject areas and many have had considerable experience working in industry. The staff who work in supporting roles are also dedicated to helping our students achieve their goals.
We’re a very friendly College and there’s lots to do when you’re not studying. If you’re interested in studying with us, you really do need to come and see for yourself. It could be your first step towards a new experience and a great career.
