Welcome to the University Of Cumbria Biology and congratulations on gaining a place on the BSc (Hons) Biology.

Biology is in essence the study of life and as such encompasses many academic fields that may be regarded as individual disciplines. For example microbiology, immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology. This modern degree programme is specifically designed to promote an awareness of the application of biological knowledge to human health and welfare, and equip students with the skills necessary to succeed in a continually changing dynamic subject.

Science isn’t something arcane, intended only for the few. Every day we face decisions that hinge on science and everyday something incredible is waiting to be discovered. This course is a great way of developing a passion for scientific diversity and we look forward to enhancing your employability and interest.
