The University for the Creative Arts is a specialist art and design university in the south of England.

History

The university was formed in 2005 as University College for the Creative Arts at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester, through the merger of the Kent Institute of Art & Design and Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College. It was granted full university status by the Privy Council in May 2008 and adopted its current name officially in September 2008.

Directions

By road

Take the M2 from either London or East Kent direction, then exit the M2 at junction 3 (A229). Follow the signs to Chatham/Rochester. After the Toys ‘R’ Us roundabout, stay in the left hand lane and continue onto City Way.

After about 2 miles, at the bottom of the hill, turn right at the mini roundabout into New Road Avenue, then after 1/4 mile turn right into Fort Pitt Hill. The entrance to the University is at the top at the hill.

Directions

By road

From the M25, follow the A3 past Guildford, then exit and take the sliproad onto the A31, signposted to Farnham and Alton. At the Shepherd and Flock roundabout head straight on along the Farnham bypass (A31) to the next roundabout.

From here, take the A325, which leads into West Street, towards the town centre. Turn left into The Hart. The main entrance to the University is at the junction with Falkner Road. Car parks are to the right.
