Sports Clubs at UCL

We currently boast an impressive 73 sports clubs encompassing over 5000 members! UCLU sports clubs offer activity for all levels of ability and can be joined at any point during the year. The majority of our sports club compete in two main competitions British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) and London Universities Sports Leagues (LUSL).

British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS)

At UCL we have 88 BUCS teams competing weekly, making us one of the largest sporting universities in the UK.

London Universities Sports Leagues (LUSL)

UCLU enters UCL, RUMS & SSEES teams into LUSL playing hundreds of fixtures every month. LUSL is a friendly league and offers fantastic opportunities for those who want to play sport in a more relaxed environment or those who are new to the sport.

Coaching & Officiating

UCLU allocates funding every year to subsidising coaching & officiating courses for our sports club members. Read about our Step into Coaching Bursary Scheme

Performance Programme

For those players within UCL Sports teams competing at the highest level in the domestic university sport programme, British Universities & Colleges Sport Leagues (BUCS) , we offer additional support and training.

Elite Athlete Programme
The Elite Programme supports a limited number of gifted and talented athletes, and is designed to aid those athletes to continue competing at the highest level while studying at UCL.
