A level, AS and GCSE qualifications
General information on entry requirements for students with A levels.
Preferred A level subjects

Other UK qualifications
Equivalent qualifications for students with BTEC National Diplomas, Access to HE Diplomas, Scottish Advanced Highers, Welsh Baccalaureates and Cambridge Pre-U Principal Subjects.
International Baccalaureate
General information for students with the International Baccalaureate (IB) qualification.
International qualifications
Equivalent national qualifications for other countries, e.g. High School Graduation Diploma in USA, etc.
English language requirements
For international students whose first language is not English.
UCL Undergraduate Preparatory Certificates (UPCs)
Foundation courses for international students without necessary entry qualifications.
Mature students
If you do not have the required entrance qualifications you should have alternative qualifications that demonstrate your academic potential and ability to thrive in your chosen subject. Please enquire with the relevant programme contact provided on the degree pages.
Applicants with advanced standing
We will consider applications to accredit prior learning at other recognised universities. Advanced standing is only awarded at UCL’s discretion. Please read the notes on applying through UCAS and also enquire with the relevant programme contact provided on the degree pages.
Part-time students
Our degrees are principally designed to be taken on a full-time basis; all teaching takes place during the daytime. However, some departments do permit part-time study. Please enquire with the relevant programme contact provided on the degree pages.
