University College Birmingham Director Of Estates
The University estate in the UK consists of two main sites (Edgbaston & Selly Oak), along with properties at Stratford on Avon, Ansty, Coniston, and Ironbridge. Those sites accommodate the majority of the core academic and residential facilities that support the work of the University. The facilities extend to approximately half-a-million square meters of floors space in over 200 buildings, and over 250 acres of grounds and sports fields.
The Estates Office is responsible for developing, maintaining and operating those facilities to support the changing needs of our staff, students and partners – and for enhancing the quality of the environment for work and study.
University College Birmingham are looking to recruit an Estates Facilities Operations Manager to join our Estates team. You will have significant experience in soft facilities or property management and compliance systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on all operational and estates/facilities matters. In addition you will develop and implement monitoring systems for operational and service delivery aspects of estates ensuring optimum performance is achieved.
You must be proficient in CAD or Revit and hold Membership of Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE) or Membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or accredited / member of BIFM – British Institute of Facilities Management.
A flexible approach to work is required in line with the needs of the service.
