University Of Chichester Bus

The University has recently invested in its bus services to improve travel from between the Chichester and Bognor Regis campuses.

Night-time safety bus

The safety bus service is run by the SU every night during term time, predominantly in Chichester but also in Bognor during major events. For £1 per person per journey the buses will drop you home from campus (within a reasonable distance of campus) – fares to be paid in cash.

For students living off campus the bus will do pick-ups to come onto campus between 8pm and 10pm only, subject to availability. To request a pick-up, text the bus on 07867385261 or 07769553998 giving your name, location and preferred time and the driver’s assistant will get back to you (please note the phones are not monitored during the day before 8pm.)

The safety bus departs from outside the LRC/SIZ. The bus runs until all students waiting for the service have been cleared from campus; there is no set finish time.

Inter-campus daytime bus

The University has also invested and improved the inter-campus bus service, known as the U7, which takes students from between the Chichester and Bognor Regis campuses. There are now more double-deckers running at peak times in the morning and afternoon to meet demand.

In addition, the University and Students’ Union have purchased a minibus – known as the Uni Flyer – which will run from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, between the Chichester and Bognor Regis campuses. Tickets costs just 60p each way and can be purchased on campus from Support and Information Zone or the Students’ Union shop.

Timetables

These services run on Mondays to Fridays (excluding bank holidays) throughout the year during the daytime, with certain services running term-time only (these are marked on the timetables). A limited evening service operates during student directed/reading weeks.

Fares and tickets

The cost for a single journey is 60p, as the University subsidise the service for its students and staff. Students and staff must purchase pre-paid tickets to travel at this fare – it is not possible to purchase this rate on the bus. Any student or member of staff who does not have a pre-paid ticket will have to pay the full single fare of £4.10. Students and staff must also have their University ID available to present to the driver.

Bus carnet tickets – 10 for £6.00 or 2 for £1.20 (staff only) – are available from:

Bishop Otter Campus – SU Shop, ZeeBar, Cash Office, Accommodation Office.
Bognor Regis Campus – Reception, Accommodation Office.
