Student Support and Guidance

Student Support and Guidance is where you will find most of the people who can offer you pastoral and developmental support while you are at University.

If you are not sure where to get help, Student Support and Guidance is the best starting point – please call in and see us. Further details are provided on Portal, the University intranet.

The senior staff of Student Support and Guidance, based on the Chester campus in Binks CBK120, are:

Support for Students

We pride ourselves on the quality of the support that we provide for our students. Student Support and Guidance (SSG) has offices on both the Chester and Warrington campuses where we are on hand to offer information, advice and guidance to all students on every aspect of their life whilst at university.

Our aim is to ensure that everyone is able to experience an enjoyable and enriching student experience.

Student Welfare

Student Welfare provides information, advice and guidance to all students at the University of Chester.

We can help you with:

  • Dedicated named staff for international, Care Leaver, Young Adult Carer and mature students
  • Homesickness
  • Accommodation issues
  • Understanding academic procedures
  • Financial problems
  • Childcare information
  • And anything else which you may be concerned about – if you’re not sure if we can help, please get in touch and ask.

Students can access information from our Information Point (by calling in to the Student Support and Guidance Offices (Chester – Binks 113 / Warrington – Martin 0.12), or emailing or phoning us) or arrange to have an individual appointment with an adviser if they require more specific advice.
