Expansion

The university has expanded in recent years, purchasing derelict and unused buildings in and around the city, renovating and repurposing existing sites for education use. In 2013 the university took over the Shell Technology Centre in Thornton, in nearby Ince, creating the Thornton Science Park[18] which has allowed a host of new engineering-related degree programmes to be offered by the university. The Faculty of Science and Engineering, at Thornton Science Park, also delivers the following programmes:- BSc Natural Sciences, BSc Computer Science, BSc Games Development, BSc Cybersecurity and BSc Mathematics.
