University of Cambridge E Journals

Journals to which the Library has purchased electronic access are listed on the Library’s ejournals webpages. You can search the list by title, subject, vendor, or citation. If you search by title, you can enter a search term (eg Jahrbuch) or browse through alphabetically. The subject search involve broad categories (eg Arts and Humanities) with optional additional subcategories (eg Literature); they do not specify German-related areas. The ordinary catalogues also provide links to ejournals (a search for a particular journal title on Newton, for example, will provide separate records for physical copies and electronic access).

The sheer number of ejournal titles, either in German or relating to the German-speaking world, plus the constant updating of our subscriptions means that a list of these titles on this page is not practical. Readers should instead use the ejournals webpages and the ordinary catalogues as directed above, where access requirements can also be found. This page instead highlights particular collections of German language journals.

Walter de Gruyter ejournals

The Library currently subscribes to 25 ejournals published by de Gruyter. To get an overview of these go to the ejournals A-Z main page, click on the vendor tab, and select Walter De Gruyter Publishing. The longest running of these titles date back to the 19th century, and are available electronically in their entirety. They include Archiv für Geschichte der Philosophie, Byzantinische Zeitschrift, Kant-Studien (but not the Ergänzungshefte) and Zeitschrift für die alttestamentliche Wissenschaft (but not the Beihefte). Linguistics titles are also well represented e.g. Intercultural pragmatics ; Laboratory phonology ; Linguistics ; Multilingua.
