How to Get to Buckingham

Buckingham is in the heart of south-east England, a thriving market town 50 miles from London and 20 miles from Oxford. Easy access by road and rail and proximity to London’s airports support our strong national and international connections.

Buckingham’s three campuses are just a 10-minute walk from each other (see Transport Links and Maps). Directions / details of how to find us are as follows:

BY ROAD:

The University of Buckingham is situated in the centre of Buckingham, and has three campus sites all within one mile of each other, at Hunter Street, Chandos Road and Verney Park, all of which are easily accessed via the UK motorway network.  The following directions are for Hunter Street, where the main Reception is located.

From the M1 (Southbound): leave the motorway at Junction 15 and join the A508 west/south, signposted Stony Stratford. Continue along this road for approx 9 miles to a large roundabout at its junction with the A5. At this roundabout take the third exit onto the A422 and continue for approx 7 miles to Buckingham. At the first roundabout on the outskirts of Buckingham, take the first exit onto the Buckingham by-pass and continue to the third roundabout (Tesco), taking the third exit onto London Road. Travel along this road for about ½ mile and take the second left turning into Chandos Road. Continue along Chandos Road following the road round into Station Road, and at the T junction turn right into Hunter Street. Follow signs to car park.

From the M1 (Northbound): leave the motorway at Junction 13 taking the A421 westward. Keep following the A421, signposted to Buckingham over at least 14 roundabouts across Milton Keynes, and then keep following the A421 for another 7 or so miles, passing signs to Great Horwood and Thornborough, until finally joining and turning left onto the Buckingham by-pass. At the next roundabout (Tesco) take the third exit onto London Road. Travel along this road for about ½ mile and take the second left turning into Chandos Road. Continue along Chandos Road following the road round into Station Road, and at the T junction turn right into Hunter Street. Follow signs to car park.
