University Of Bristol Langford
The School of Veterinary Sciences is located at a dedicated site on the edge of the Mendip hills in the rural village of Langford, 14 miles south of Bristol.
Our 255-hectare estate is home to state-of-the-art facilities that are ideal for our staff conducting a large variety of research activity, as well as being fundamental to our commitment in delivering first-rate teaching on all our undergraduate courses and postgraduate taught programmes.
Our site caters for the whole student experience and we’ve invested a large amount in facilities to make you feel at home here during your time with us. This includes a new student common room and cafe, a new gym, and on-site accommodation.
Langford Vets is based at the site, which includes a small animal practice and hospital, equine centre and farm animal practice.
We also offer a number of commercial services that are strongly linked to our research output, from the Langford Abattoir to diagnostics services.
Rooms at Langford are available to undergraduates studying either BVSc Veterinary Science or BSc Veterinary Nursing and Bioveterinary Science during the years they are based at Langford. Postgraduate students whose studies are based at Langford can also apply for a room.
Kitchens and bathrooms are shared by six to nine students, while other facilities include an on-site gym, launderette and squash and tennis courts.
The Langford campus is 14 miles south-west of Bristol, close to the A38. It is also accessible from the M5, junctions 21 or 22. There is on-site parking
The First A2 Link service operates in the Langford area and can be used in conjunction with the X1 service which runs between Bristol Coach Station and Weston super Mare. The nearest train station is Yatton (four miles from the campus), while Bristol Airport is about five miles away, along the A38.
