University of Brighton Occupational Health

We provide occupational health (OH) services to BSUH NHS Trust employees and external organisations.

Occupational health is concerned with the effect of work on health and ensuring employees are fit for the work they do. Our goal is to provide a quality professional OH service and promote the provision of a safe and healthy working environment.

Our SEQOHS accreditation means that you have the assurance, through independent validation, that the services provided satisfies the SEQOHS standards for safety, effectiveness and quality as a minimum.

The OH team

  • Specialist occupational health nurse advisors (OHNAs)
  • Consultant cccupational physician
  • A qualified and registered occupational health physiotherapist
  • A team of clinic nurses
  • Manual handling advisors/trainers

Management referral – advice on fitness to work
Health clearance and screening for employment
Health surveillance
Physiotherapy and ergonomic assessments
Manual handling

We also offer vaccines and blood testing and advice following accidents at work, including sharps/splash injury assessment and advice.
